Swansea having been my home for four years while I was at Uni, I thought it wrong not to stay here for a few days. In any case after a lot of motoring so far on the trip I wanted to make sure that when I leave Swansea I had some wind – it is not too much to ask, is it!
Sunday was the hottest (and least windiest) day of the year, so I decided sailing was a no go – the thermometer in the boat toped out at 33.1°C. In the evening I met up with Ed (another Uni friend who never got around to leaving Swansea) for a drink in the pub quite conveniently position next to the marina.
Swansea is going to be my last major port I will be visiting for a while so it gave me a good chance to stock up (there are two major supermarkets within ½ a mile) and take advantage of being in a marina. One priority is to find somewhere that sells pillows – if I am going to be living on the boat for three months I should treat myself to more than a pile of clothes (and a cricked neck) each night.
At the moment Tuesday is looking like a good option to move down the coast to either Tenby or Milford Haven, but we will see.
