Sunday 8th August 2004

FishguardThe wind was funnelling down the valley and the rain pouring down which made it nice to be firmly attached to a mooring. The wind was now forecast up to force 7 going through in the course of the day – the tail end of a Hurricane from the other side of the Atlantic.

After mid-afternoon it started raining heavily which started to see the wind die down to a force 4 or 5. This was the wind forecast for the morning and all was looking good for a fast passage to Aberystwyth.

Once I had been for my normal 3-mile walk to top up the fuel and planning the tides for Monday I was again invited for drinks on Caraid.

Just as a note, the boat three rows along from Silverwind on the moorings in Fishguard was a Bilge Keel Hunter Delta called Lady Margaret (hull no. 57).
