Wednesday 25th – Thursday 26th August 2004

I woke to the 7:25am alarm call ready for the 7:35am weather forecast from Holyhead Coastguard – the Coastguard station is only 300m from the marina, if would have been easier for them to shout it!

The wind was force 4 or 5 from the southwest, which would be great if I hadn’t fallen straight back to sleep and woken again at 11am! To be far I was still feeling a little tied from being up all Monday night so another day in Holyhead did not hurt.

The weather on Thursday it not look too good with force 4 or 5 in the day but force 7 or 8 forecast for the evening so I went off to explore. One hour after going off to explore Holyhead I was back on the boat as a) it was raining and b) there is nothing of interest in Holyhead (except a ferry port!). To be fair if it had not been for the wind getting up in the afternoon I would have walked up “the mountain” which is part of the South Stacks nature reserve.

Friday is looking good for the trip to the Isle of Man with the strong winds dieing over night.
