I could not have started off (let alone finished) this trip without the help and support of a great number of people.
Special thanks goes to:
- Tim for lending me a number of charts of Western Scotland which turned out to be some of the most important charts carried.
- Terry for his general advice concerning sailing the west coast.
- Keith for allowing us to sail off into the sunset with the only mainsail to his Hunter Delta (in order that we had a spare).
- Mike for lending me the spare Autohelm (although I still have to fix it!)
- Fishguard Sailing Club for allowing me the use of their shower in a moment when I badly needed a wash!
- James for technical advice - including how to fix a broken liferaft!
- Susie for amusing me up with her drunken phone calls. OK, that is unfair, she was not drunk every time! She also supplied the best shower on the trip.
- My friends for putting up with random phone calls and text message, at times when I had nothing better to do.
- Year 4 from Nancledra School for their support.
- The members of Penzance Sailing Club for sending messages of supported and coming on mass to greet me back home.
- HM Coastguard for always being just a call away.
- Most importantly, my family for their support and putting up with me racing off mid summer with Silverwind. Especially as my Mum had planned a sailing holiday*.
Finally a personal big THANK YOU to the great boat that got me around in one piece and never let me down.
*Mum did get her sailing holiday, in the Isles of Scilly on a friends yacht.
